Jim Crow Laws Effects On Other Races |
In the south there were overwhelming and frankly ridiculous laws aimed at african american ‘citizens’. But what many forget about is that there were restrictions to other races as well. In those years not long ago mexicans, jewish people, chinese, native americans, and really anyone who wasn’t considered ‘White’. Now there were not laws preventing them from their right of speech, or marriage, or any and every conceivable way to restrict our black citizens. There were however segregated bathrooms, restaurants, schools, and water fountains. In short, I don't blame people for forgetting about the restrictions on non-blacks, I'm merely curious as to why i’ve never heard of them.
